Wilkerson Hopes To Impress In Front Of Hometown Crowd

Springfield, IL (July 6, 2016) – Tim Wilkerson will be back in his Levi, Ray & Shoup Ford Shelby Mustang in front of a hometown crowd this weekend at the K&N Filters NHRA Route 66 Nationals.
Being a native of Illinois and having his main sponsor located in Springfield, Wilkerson will have an extra-large cheering section in the stands of Route 66 Raceway.
“I like to race at Route 66 Raceway and having all my family and friends attending,” said Wilkerson. “Some people may feel lots of pressure racing with all those people on hand, but I find it actually helps me. We have close to 200 Levi, Ray & Shoup employees and guests alone expected to come out this weekend so I want to make them proud to have their logo on my car.”
Before the racing begins, Wilkerson will be part of NHRA press conference on Thursday at noon at the River Roast in Chicago for all the media to attend. He will answer questions about winning two races this season, driving two completely different race cars over the season and the NHRA Championship points battle.
“This is a good opportunity to get some momentum back after a rough four-race schedule that had us experiencing a couple setbacks and car changes,” said Wilkerson.
