SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (January 30, 2014) -- In 2013, Wilk's Warriors voted. Today, in 2014, the result of that voting can be seen on the internet as the team's new completely redesigned and rebuilt website makes its long-aniticipated debut. Reconstructed from the ground up by LRS Web Solutions, the site features the bold "Flames Up" design chosen by the fans.
The new version of TimWilkerson.com features bold new graphics, a Multi-Media page featuring regularly updated photos and videos, a "live" Twitter feed, detailed specs for the LRS Ford Funny Car, crew information, and all the news and updates fans are looking for as they follow Team Wilk throughout each NHRA Mello Yello campaign.
"We talk about our sponsors being our partners all the time, but this might be the most perfect example of that and we're thrilled with it," said Tim Wilkerson. "The LRS Web Solutions folks are some of the most talented and dedicated pros in the business, and as part of our LRS sponsorship they came in and made this all happen, from the design, to the fan vote, to actually rebuilding and updating our site. It's really terrific, and it takes us to a whole new level."
Jamie Baird, at LRS Web Solutions, was the Senior Project Manager in charge of the makeover. Baird and his staff dug deep into the functionality of the site, while they kept a keen eye on current technologies and the way in which fans like to interact and follow their favorite team.
"The evolution of website design and functionality is an ongoing thing, and we're constantly trying to stay ahead of that curve when we create new sites," Baird said. "NHRA fans are different than retail consumers, or business-to-business experts, or just about any other group, so we tried to tailor the new site to what they like and what they want to see, while we also built it to be easy to navigate and fun. Behind the scenes, the team will be able to update the site regularly to keep the content fresh, and that's an important piece of the functionality. We're proud of the work we do here, at LRS Web Solutions, and we're not only proud of this Team Wilkerson site, we're just as excited about it as anyone. After all, we're all Wilk's Warriors too."
